Include Home Staging as The Incentive For Your Home’s Sale

We’ve all read about flashy incentives for buying homes - a new car, a flat-panel TV or a vacation in the Carribean. These all may be well and good if the home has been sitting on the market for months and months with no activity at all. What about avoiding these incentives and Home Staging or Redesigning the home in the first place! The homeowner, Realtor, the appraiser, inspector, the loan and title companies; all parts of the sale and should consider offering incentives for this real estate market. Buyers appreciate any help in the buying process and consider all of the material perks offered have been added to the sale and they’re paying for them in long run anyway.
Usually the first thing looked at is lowering the price - Why? when Home Staging creates value and the emotional connection that buyers want to see - as their home. Just because lowering the price is the easiest thing to do, DC Redesign provides a service - the choice to choose Home Staging!

Include Home Staging first and then throw in all the other perks - seller assisted financing, points and down-payments, decreasing closing costs, add a Home Warranty Program for the first year free, association fees paid for the first couple of months, free yard or pool service for the first year all help in the sale of a home. Oh, and don’t forget the car or flat panel TV in the deal!

2/27/08 The latest according to Realtor Magazine’s article “The Risks of Over Sweetening,” mentions that buyers tend to think a home that offers incentives is over-priced. After reading the article Home Staging is not mentioned but offering a decorating allowance is. I’d love to hear anyone’s comments on this issue. Thanks - Diane
