FAQ’s

Q. Are your design consultations available by phone?
Specific questions can be answered, however, it is basically to set up a meeting at your property needing the redesign or home staging.

Q. How much time is needed for my redesign or home staging job?
Usually a minimum full 8-hour day at your property.

Q. What is your preferred payment method? A 50% deposit is due at the time of contract and scheduling for your staging job. The balance due is due the day the furniture arrives at your home to set up in your home. We only accept cash or checks.

Q. How should I prepare my home before the day of home staging?
The consultation form will show you what should be done before your home staging or redesign. Each home is different. We do not clean, wash windows or weed the gardens. Please hire these professionals to complete the jobs needed.

Q. Do I need to leave my home at the time of the redesign or home staging?
No, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a vacant home staging or redesign, you do not have to leave the property but you do need to let me do my job. :-)

Q. Do you offer your design consultation written so I can do the work myself?
Yes, our minimum consultation time is 2 hours. You can take notes on what suggestions we give you for paint, lighting, accessories, organizing and where to place your furniture for any amount of rooms: living room, dining, kitchen, master bedroom, bath, etc., for a small fee or a written plan for an additional fee. You will get more out of the consultation if it is written out for you.

Q. In a Redesign, are there any other expenses other than your consultation fee that I would have to pay for? Any additional accessories, including plants, pictures, rugs, lamps, etc., would be at your expense and yours to keep. Our consultation is intended to provide you with the best ideas for a complete redesign.

Q. What about a vacant home staging; how does this work? If the house is vacant the walk-through is done at no charge. The cost includes all accessories, plants, pictures, rugs and lamps and is based on how many rooms and the size of the home.

Q. Is DC Redesign licensed and insured?
Yes, we are licensed and fully insured.
